My take on The first statement is that People that go to church for the most part become intolerant of anything ,but there own ideas and beliefs.Exactly wrong in the rules of Christianity. I had to stop going to church so I could find 'God". Everyone in entilted to there own belief system. I love to explore different ways of praying and getting filled up with spirit. My way is unique [like that of every person born.]If we were to call these all different relionons
that would be some list. Everyones path to enlightment is different. Surely there are many similarities but like snowflakes there r not two alike.

I am so happy to have finally learned more about this website...How great that a doctor does this for his patients. I just also discovered that you can take a book out of his office ,like a library. My eyes are opening and everything is coming up to my sight. I am just awaking..........to the joys of life. I still am wondering how much more I will be learning. I have been so caged up all my life in my mind...I cannot wait to see where all this well lead to.Hopefully some great converstions.

This is amazing. I have never seen a more succinct, accurate summary of my internal process. I'm not sure I would have been able to express it myself, but there it is in black and white.

Although I have gotten a lot done in my life, it takes so much to stay focused and nothing does it like worry and anxiety. I have done very little that I think is meaningful that didn't have anxiety and worry driving it all the way. Never been diagnosed with ADHD ... don't know if that even fits me ... but that sentence, "Worry and anxious response also cut through the inefficient ... pathways" sure knocked me for a loop.

Great questions and observations! We are all in a way changing and adapting to the environment and the proper treatment with or without medications only assist when this process is life affirming. We now know that even psychotherapy leads to brain change and adaptation hence separating biological and non bilological modalities is not an inaccurate conceptualization. Ultimately changes in our educational theories, moderating emphasis on material success, harmony with the environment, creation of cultural trends with emphasis on beauty and serenity could lead to a lessening of the need to modify brain adaptation in the ways we undertake at this time.

Hello Dr. Sabet-

So if ADHD can be conceptualized as a proclivity to a certain type of processing and interacting with the world, does treating it alter the patient's processing of and interaction with the world? That is, do they begin to process and interact with the world in a different way, as a result of treatment? If so, in which ways do the different methods of treating ADHD affect the patient's processing and interaction with the world? That is, how might medication affect the patient's processing and interaction with the world, as compared to how other types of treatment such as psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy might affect their processing and interaction with the world? Are their cognition, personality, emotion and thought patterns changed in the process? Do they become a different person in these contexts?

Thanks, Joe
